This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things
This past Friday there was a scheduled Muslim prayer service held inside the National Cathedral in Washington, DC. A remarkable step forward in the quest to show the true spiritual diversity that makes up our Nation. Kudos, props and Kewpie dolls all around, right?
Well, seems that one particularly batshit crazy Christian fundamentalist woman just couldn’t take it, and drove her SUV over four hundred miles from Tennessee to let them know just how she felt.
Meet Christine Weick, who lives in Tennessee, or wherever her SUV is located, as it doubles as her home. More on that, later.
This is not the first time the Nation has met Ms. Weick. Recently, a video of her explaining that Monster Energy Drinks are, in fact, Satanic has gone viral. Here’s the video of that:
She actually did a podcast involving her opinions on Monster Energy Drinks, which you can listen to here.
Previously, last May, she was out on a street corner protesting those pesky gays with her sign. Not as colorful as those held up by her equally batshit crazy compatriots at the Westboro Baptist Church, but the message is essentially the same:
Here’s a picture of her holding up that sign:
Here’s a video of her getting the Slushie thrown on her:
Remember I mentioned that she lives in her car? Yeah, seems her family threw her out on the street. Her own family disowned her after she condemned the same-sex marriage of another relative, along with comments on some other issues of a moral nature. In fact, last year her husband divorced her over what he referred to as intolerant opinions of a spiritual nature.
Here’s the rear window of her car:
So, back to the Muslim prayer service. Weick made the four-hundred-plus mile journey to educate those who were in attendance why there should not be a Muslim praying in the National Cathedral. She explained that God had personally sent her as His emissary to protest the prayer after reading about the scheduling of the event. She told World Net Daily, aka, World Nut Daily,
“My blood began to boil as I read the comments of how this is to be such a wonderful event and how religious tolerance can, for the first time, be shown in our nation’s capital.
“Then it hit me… I had such an angst come over me. Seeing these Muslims sitting on their rugs ready to bow to a god, causing such an abomination in the house of the Lord.”
The prayer service had just begun as she made her way up front and began her sermon. She said,
“Jesus Christ died on that cross. He is the reason we are to worship only Him. Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior. We have built …allowed you your mosques in this country. Why don’t you worship in your mosques and leave our churches alone? We are a country founded on Christian principles.”
Here’s a video of the whole thing:
Although she wasn’t arrested, she was removed from the building and the service continued without further interruptions. Now she can get on with promoting her book, which she touts as a reasonable explanation of the book of Revelation. Oh, happy day…
Sad thing is, there are individuals who hold similar vile and discriminatory points of view sitting in elected offices all over the country, trying to enact legislation to promote bigotry, all in the name of God.
God is love, right? Well, if He is anything like these people project Him to be, He’s kind of a dick.

If your are interested, here is a clip from VOA News covering the event. From the video,
“The hope was that an Islamic service in one of America’s best-known churches would send a message of interfaith harmony to counter extremists’ use of religion to justify hatred and strife.”
